Keepers of the Keys

Don’t miss singer, pianist, Bistro and Margaret Whiting Award winner Eric Yves Garcia as he walks along the hall of his heroes in his brand new show “Keepers of the Keys”. The performance will feature the work of Nat King Cole, Hoagy Carmichael, Hutch, Bobby Short, and Barbara Carroll. Each grappled with forces that might have kept them pinned behind their instrument, unheard. Instead, each used the piano keys to open their futures. They made a room vibrant with color and possibility when all it used to be was noise and smoke.

Join us as Eric Yves Garcia celebrates these vital artists in song. Produced by Treble Clef LLC, this will be an unmissable night!

Pour Spirits

Liquor being romanticized foolishly, the rigors of working past midnight, sex that leaves a mark - alcohols are called spiritsbecause they inhabit everyone differently.  This show is not a ballad of the sad young man, because they never progress from that bar - it's about humor in the unhumorous, and using it to find the way clear.

Jazz Party - Hosted by Carole J. Bufford

Birdland Jazz Party- Birdland's very own jazz quartet hits the stage every Sunday to wrap up the weekend with jazz classics featuring blues and jazz vocalist Carole J. Bufford!  Special guests for the September 13th show are Eric Yves Garcia and T. Oliver Reid! Stephen Holden, writing about Carole in the NY Times, said, "The way her voice, with its blues inflections, cut a swath, leaving nothing standing, tempts me to describe her with groveling hyperbole as an earthier, more acerbic 21st-century Barbra Streisand."

One Night Standards at The Crazy Coqs

After a critically-lauded run in NYC, HTC alum Eric Yves Garcia brings his popular cabaret show to The Crazy Coqs for his London premiere!

The show pulls lesser-known songs from the Great American Songbook canon, with selections reflecting the trials of love and loss in the city. Garcia's musings on the rigor and melancholy of the performer's life are peppered with self-deprecating humor and charm that disarms his audience.

“ONE NIGHT STANDARDS” debuted in November 2013, at the Laurie Beechman Theater on 42nd Street, and received rave reviews from the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

“Eric Yves Garcia belongs to the school of jazz-leaning connoisseurs of the American Songbook epitomized by the irreplacable Bobby Short. ... His tales of absurd encounters with fans are funny, self-deflating reflections on the entertainer’s lot."
— Stephen Holden, The New York Times

"He puts everything together in a highly personal, intensely intimate fashion that allows the songs to come to us through him in a way that's by turns incredibly moving and very funny—often both at the same time."
— Will Friedwald, The Wall Street Journal

"Pianist? Remarkable. Singer? Aces. But who knew he could be so damned funny? Garcia is the complete package, and if America doesn’t embrace him, I’ll be mighty baffled."
— Kevin Scott Hall, Edge New York - "Top 13 cabaret acts of 2013"
